We got our hands on a pre-production version of the new and first remote control made by TBS, the TBS Tango. This radio is aimed at the racing market and features a built-in 5.8GHz video receiver with video and power out to goggles. The RC frequency and protocol is the choice of the pilot, thanks to the JR Module which can use modules like the TBS Crossfire system or FrSky 2.4GHz.
The TBS Tango’s interface is a simplistic design. TBS announced that the radio design is not meant to compete or be like that of the Taranis (which is not simplistic at all). This makes the Tango a simple radio, with a straightforward approach specific to the FPV pilot. It has a large capacity battery that will give it a longer life span and greater autonomy in the field when compared to other remote controllers. Though, when powering your goggles that will obviously reduce that battery life. We should be receiving the final version soon to offer an in-depth review of the unit.
